Big News: “Roots & Rhythms” Awarded Grant from Caribbean Culture Fund!

I am incredibly proud to announce that I have been selected as a grantee by the Caribbean Culture Fund (CCF) under their “The Art for Change, Caribbean Collaboration” stream!
Receiving this support is a massive milestone, not just for my career, but for the message we are trying to send. The grant will officially fund the launch of my new project, Roots & Rhythms: Sound the Shift.
About The Project
Sound the Shift is a cross-Caribbean music initiative designed to raise environmental awareness among our youth. As we all know, the Caribbean is on the front lines of the climate crisis. I believe our most powerful resource to fight back is our culture.
I’m teaming up with creatives from The Bahamas and St. Vincent and the Grenadines to co-create five original songs and music videos. We will be tackling themes like climate change, plastic pollution, and ocean conservation, but doing it through the universal language of music.
What to Expect
We aren’t just dropping songs; we are building a movement.
- New Music: 5 original tracks and visuals.
- School Toolkits: Resources for teachers to use our music in the classroom.
- Public Events: Campaigns to inspire real climate action and Caribbean unity.
Why the CCF?
The Caribbean Culture Fund supports projects that demonstrate social commitment, inclusion, and sustainability. I am honored that they saw those values in Roots & Rhythms.
Music has always been a bridge between islands. With Sound the Shift, we aren’t just making entertainment; we are creating a movement. By collaborating across The Bahamas and St. Vincent, we are showing that the fight for our environment is a shared Caribbean responsibility.
Our creativity is our catalyst. Through music and culture, we’re inspiring real environmental awareness and action because these islands are our home, and safeguarding the future is our responsibility.
Thank you for sticking with me on this journey. Stay tuned for the first release! We are about to make some noise for our planet.
